The only Federal program dedicated to the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS. Under the HOPWA Program, HUD makes grants to local communities, States, and nonprofit organizations for projects that benefit low-income persons living with HIV/AIDS and their families.

Provides complete family health care, birth certificates, immunizations, care for sexually transmitted diseases, anonymous and confidential testing for HIV and family planning.

Provides assistance with HIV medicines and other services available to people who are living with HIV and who do not have sufficient health insurance or who need financial assistance.

The High Impact Prevention Program is facilitated through WellFloirda Council. WellFlorida Council is a private, nonprofit organization that was created in 1969. We are the state-designated local health council for 16 counties in North Central Florida and are consultants for health causes. WellFlorida manages local, state, and federally funded programs, special projects, and nonprofits throughout the region that support our mission and the causes we believe in—maternal and infant health, HIV/AIDS care, children’s safety, and improving access to healthcare, especially in rural communities. Our High Impact Prevention Program aims to decrease the spread of HIV and link people living with HIV to care and treatment in North Central Florida.
