Uplift Columbia 2024

Uplift Communities was launched in 2022 to bring together behavioral health providers,
community stakeholders and faith leaders committed to the health and well-being of their
communities. The objective is to bring greater awareness of mental health issues as well as resources in our rural communities and to increase collaboration and impact.

Collaboration with the Faith Community is a critical resource for community wellness
and health. LSF Health Systems’ Uplift Communities initiative is aligned with the Governor’s Faith and Community Initiative which has the following 3 objectives:

1. Thank the faith institutions and community organizations around our state for the work
they do for our vulnerable populations.

2. Open a healthy line of communication between the state, our state agencies, and Florida’s
faith and community organizations.

3. Enhance care for the children of our state through cooperation and collaboration.

Uplift Columbia was held first in May of 2023 and was well attended by the faith community and behavioral health service providers and resources in the Columbia County area. The connections that were made and the excitement it brought has gained traction for a year now. A new organization, Living Hope, was birthed out of the event to connect the faith community and providers over time to identify and address shared goals. Also, a program for youth to speak out and talk about Mental Health was created, and they meet monthly at the college. We’re so excited to see what is to come out of our next Uplift Columbia Event in September.
