Launched in 2022, LSF Health Systems’ Uplift Communities Initiative is a collaborative effort uniting behavioral health providers, community stakeholders, and faith leaders with a shared commitment to the mental and spiritual well-being of rural communities. As part of the Governor’s Faith and Community Initiative, Uplift Communities focuses on increasing awareness, access, and engagement around mental health resources where they are often most needed.
The inaugural Uplift Columbia was held in May 2023, bringing together a vibrant mix of local pastors, behavioral health professionals, and service providers. The event energized the community and catalyzed meaningful partnerships—most notably leading to the formation of Living Hope, a grassroots organization devoted to connecting faith communities with mental and behavioral health resources year-round.
In 2024, the second annual event took place at the historic Blanche Hotel, drawing twice as many attendees and featuring around 50 community vendors. Local churches, leaders, and organizations connected with key resources to better serve individuals and families facing complex behavioral health challenges. The event reinforced Uplift Columbia’s mission to promote collaboration and spotlight innovative, faith-based solutions for trauma recovery and holistic wellness.
